BEFORE AND AFTER A NEW DESIGN!

Gilded Gem this is a Clouded Sulfur butterfly on a butterfly bush bloom. We had so many of these beauties fluttering all over the clover on our property. They love feasting on clover, I was chasing butterflies all afternoon trying to get the perfect shot as they do not hold still. This fella I caught in the early morning while it was still warming up and drying off as we had a heavy dew that morning.

I think he has such beautiful colors with the pink edges, green eyes and yellow body! His antennae even have lovely colors!

I have been hoping to get a picture of these beauties for some time now and I am pleased to have this design a part of my portfolio.

DID YOU KNOW?????   I have over 250 designs?  You can visit my portfolio to see them all!

Sending you smiles, laughter and positive energy,
Mel

LEARN MORE

My last honeybee design in a series of four. I love the positive energizing energy of this design and I hope you can feel it too! I call this design Good BEEhavior.

👀COMING SOON 👀– a monarch butterfly design, a yellow sulfur butterfly design, a snapdragon design, a rainbow design, and who knows after that!

🐝Good BEEhavior 🐝– as I mentioned I am fond of honeybees, for many reasons but my favorite is that my name Melissa means honeybee in Greek.

🐝This is my favorite bee the orange belted bumble bee he is feasting on an blanket flower (gaillardia) This is such a beautiful flower and I am nurturing this fall hoping it grows back this coming spring. (fingers crossed)

🐝 Bee Meaning and Symbolism – Many cultures honor the bee and it is noted in many ancient cultures and mythologies. My favorite of course is the ancient Greek Goddess of Bees, Melissa. Melissa means honeybee in Greek and she also cared for the infant Zeus. She was turned into a beautiful bee by Zeus.

🐝 In ancient Egypt bees were a symbol of royalty and supremacy.

🐝 蜜蜂 The Chinese consider designs of a bee sitting on a flower to represent courtship, marriage and love. They also these design to represent a maiden’s purity and fertility due to the bee’s pollination ability. The Chinese culture also considers the bee to represent cheerfulness, fortuity, affluence and harmony.

🐝 The overall symbolism of bees include: Love, Life, Order, Development, Knowledge, Beauty, Family, Happiness, Mystery, Sweetness, Nurturing, Community, Efficiency and Communication.

🌼 The gaillardia a.k.a blanket flower symbolizes humility, charm, happiness and joy!

🌼 There is also an Indian legend about the how the gaillardia was nicknamed the blanket flower. Two tribes were at war. The chief’s wife started weaving a blanket in orange and yellow patterns. It represented her prayer to the great spirits to keep her husband safe. One fateful day the chief’s daughter was playing in the woods and she had gone astray and could not find her way home. As the sun set it grew colder and colder and the little girl prayed to the Great Spirit to send her a blanket to keep her warm. She drifted into a sound slumber. Dawn arrived and as she woke up her father discovered her on his way home from war covered in these bright cheerful beautiful flowers. From that point on the Chief called these blanket flowers.🌼

More Info

Enthusiastic IngenuityOh the beauty of Nasturtiums!  I love there gorgeous varied blooms and their almost lily pad like leaves.   My hummers and bees just love these blooms as they are rich in nectar.  They create a lush and colorful display in the shady areas of my yard.

The general symbolism of nasturtiums is triumph and conquest.  The color of the nasturtium also conveys symbolism.  Orange represents enthusiasm and creativity.

Green is my favorite color but I must confess there is an energy to the color orange that I am often drawn to.  When is see green and orange together it ignites my spirits!

I have been feeling so “fierce” lately, not in an adverse way, I have a sense of empowerment over personal challenges, a sense of control over my destiny, focused and determined.

This design that I titled Enthusiastic Ingenuity is a result of my soul singing, “I am strong, I am capable, I will succeeded in the goals I have set for myself.

I share this with all of you that need some strength and encouragement!  GO GET ‘EM dear friends!

Exuberant Ego

Before and After

Before

After

HELLO EVERYONE!  I have a new design for you! Here is the AFTER & BEFORE of a new MONARCH BUTTERFLY  design!

Are you lucky enough to be born in the Celtic Zodiac of the butterfly? I am no social butterfly that is for sure! I am hide from any social situations. I always have. I have always felt out of place and try not to draw attention to myself, which begs the question, “Why do you display your art?” It is not for attention, I create these designs because I MUST, it is in my head and I have to get them out. I have to admit there are times that I FREAK OUT showing everyone my “soul” and my circuits get overloaded and have to unplug and shut down by shutting all the blinds, turning a fan on high to drown out all noise, lock my bedroom door, and just lay in the dark. 😬 Okay too much about me…here is some information on my design.

Exuberant Ego -

The butterfly is the Celtic Zodiac for those born between September 30th thru October 27th. Those born under this sign are said to be extremely social hence the phrase, “Social Butterfly”. They are known to have a joyful personality and a cheery disposition. They are intuitively empathetic and people are drawn to their positive aura.

The Day of the Dead a.k.a. El Dia de los Muertos is celebrated on November 1st and 2nd. During this time the sky over the Mexican mountain village of Anguangeo is strewn with flickers of fiery orange and browns. They are not from the colors of autumn leaves but from countless monarch butterflies concluding their journey to the hills covered in firs.
The locals believe the monarchs are the returning spirits of their deceased relatives, inexplicably returning the same time every year. The ancient Aztecs believe that the dearly departed souls return as hummingbirds and butterflies.

The Mandarin Chinese word for butterfly is "hu-tieh". "Tieh" means "70 years", therefore butterflies have become a symbol for a long life.

If a butterfly crosses your path, it means good luck.

In the Japanese culture butterflies are thought to be representative of young maidens and marital bliss.

In ancient Greek the word for butterfly is "Psyche", which translated means "soul". Psyche is the Greek Goddess of souls.

Butterflies also symbolize: Resurrection, Transition, Celebration, Lightness, Time and Soul.

Symmetry is another manifestation of the balance of Yin and Yang, of the unimpeded flow of ch'i.

Blissful Ballerina

Blissful BallerinaThis is a bouquet of forget-me-nots
placed in a yellow freesia bloom on a blanket of archangel leaves.

Forget-me-not symbolism - The Forget-Me-Not flower
represents true faithful love, fond memories and hope.  It is also a flower essence of the heart
chakra.

Freesia symbolisms - This type of freesia is called
Ballerina due to their slim stems and delicate blooms. The freesia is the 7th wedding anniversary flower.  Freesia symbolize innocence and friendship.   Yellow freesias symbolize joy, renewal, and friendship.  In the Victorian language of flowers, the freesia is the ultimate flower of trust. In numerology, freesias signify the
number nine, which signifies selflessness and obligation.

👀 BEFORE AND AFTER – A NEW 2019 DESIGN! 👀
🐝I’m a BEEliever 🐝– This is a tricolored bumblebee AKA Orange Belted bumblebee on a 🌼 gaillardia bloom a.k.a blanket flower 🌼. This is a great flower for our pollinators and nectar lovers! I always have something on their lovely blooms. I love all bees but the orange belted is my favorite. They are so friendly and docile and I adore his colors. This is the third design in a set of four designs I have created of our buzzing pollinating friends!

🐝 Bee Meaning and Symbolism – Many cultures honor the bee and it is noted in many ancient cultures and mythologies. My favorite of course is the ancient Greek Goddess of Bees, Melissa. My Website

After and Before A new Design
💚All We Need Is Love 💚 – The rainbow represents peace and serenity love and promise. The colors of the rainbow also correspond with the 7 chakra colors. There are many movements that use the rainbow as their symbol especially the LGBTQ movement known as the equality flag. It has been used in Buddhism and a symbol of peace ☮️. This heart mandala design is made of beads the color of the rainbow. A design I have been wanting to do for some time. The rainbow symbolizes many things and I designed this to represent the chakras and for equality! 🕉 🏳️‍🌈
There are seven chakras that begin at the base of the spine and ascend through the body and end at the top of your head. Each of the seven points are connected with part of the body, energy, emotion and a life force.
The first is the root chakra that begins and the base of the spine. The Sanskrit name is Muladhara, which translates to root support. . It is represented by the color red and the element of earth. This chakra unites you to the earth. A balanced root chakra provides a stable foundation and a positive self-awareness. If unbalanced one may feel insecure, frightened, and greedy.
The second chakra is the sacral chakra which is positioned between the pubic bone and navel. The Sanskrit name is Svadhishthana, which translates to dwelling place of the self. It is represented by the color orange and the water element. This chakra stimulates emotions, suppresses inhibitions, energizes your ability to adapt, creativity, social abilities and individuality. An unbalanced sacral chakra causes creative stagnation, fear, inertia and lust.
The third chakra is the Solar Plexus Chakra. This chakra is position in the lumbar spine and navel. The Sanskrit name is Manipura, which translates to city of jewels. It is represented by the color yellow and fire element. This chakra emphases one’s id, resolve, self-worth and how we feel we are perceived. It stimulates clarity of thought, inquisitiveness and mindfulness. It promotes self-acceptance. It allows us to feel in tune with the earth. An unbalanced chakra causes anger, self-denial, lack of integrity, inertia and inability to take control.
The fourth chakra is the Heart Chakra. This chakra center point is in the heart region. In Sanskrit it is called anahata which means unstuck. It is represented by the color green and focuses on emotional energy. This chakra promotes the ability to give and received love unconditionally. It supports our ability to love and nurture ourselves and others. It strengthens our the sense of serenity. An unbalanced heart chakra causes emotional paralysis, emotional neediness, codependency and a sense of isolation.
The fifth chakra is the Throat Chakra. It is positioned in the throat area. In Sanskrit it is call Vishuddha which translates to pure. It is represented by the color blue and the element of space. This chakra promotes prolific self-expression and eloquent commination. It stimulates Dharma (truth), and resolution. The color blue is considered comforting and soothing and can suppress nervousness and anxiety. Symptoms of an unbalance throat chakra are unresolved grief, fear of judgement, speech impairments, indecisiveness and inability to express oneself.
The sixth chakra is the Third Eye Chakra. It is positioned between the eyebrows. In Sanskrit is called Ajna meaning command or perception. It is represented by the color indigo. It triggers the physical senses and galactic attunement. It stimulates responsibility and our understanding and acceptance of divine direction. It encourages us to trust and follow our soul’s path. It fortifies our intuition and the ability to see the big picture.
The seventh chakra is the Crown Chakra. It is positioned and the top of our head. In Sanskrit it is called Sahasrara, which translates to thousand petaled lotus. It is represented by the color violet. This chakra promotes self-knowledge and spiritual consciousness. It assist in meditation and a collective understanding. If unbalanced one may suffer from self-delusion, distraction, lack of clarity and indulge in materialism.
☯️ Symmetry is another manifestation of the balance of Yin and Yang, of the unimpeded flow of ch'i.
