Delicate Strength

 Psychedelic Saturday!

Delicate Strength  - Gladioli symbolizes strength, moral integrity and infatuation. Giving gladioli means you are piercing the recipient’s heart with passion! Symmetry is another
manifestation of the balance of Yin and Yang, of the unimpeded flow of ch'i.

Before and After – A NEW DESIGN – The second design of my blue damselfly. I think he was doing yoga and was in all sorts of positions!

Head Over Heals - This is a damselfly the smaller cousin of the dragonfly. They both have the same symbolism. This is my first design of a damselfly. Damselflies and Dragonflies symbolize prosperity, good luck, strength, peace, harmony and purity. The color blue is associated with depth and stability. It symbolizes trust, loyalty, wisdom, confidence, intelligence, faith, truth, and heaven. Blue is considered beneficial to the mind and body. It slows human metabolism and produces a calming effect. Symmetry is another manifestation of the balance of Yin and Yang, of the unimpeded flow of ch'i

Optimistic Outlook

Meditative Monday -
I do so hope this brings sometranquility into your Monday!

Optimistic Outlook - This is a bouquet of a blanket flower
a.k.a. Gaillardia maroon and yellow mums just a hint of a blue bachelor button,
nemesia and butter and eggs wildflower resting on ferns.

The Kiowa Tribe believe the Gaillardia bring good luck. The
mum (chrysanthemums) symbolize optimism and joy. Bachelor Buttons symbolism -
bachelors wore this flower when they were attracted to a maiden and sought to
court her. The longer the bachelor donned the flower and the longer the flower
bloomed told of the degree of his love. If the flower faded away quickly it was
not meant to be. Nemesia is Greek for “she who administers justice”. Ferns
symbolize sincerity towards others. It can also be a symbol of magic,
fascination, confidence, shelter, discretion, reverie and a secret bond of
love.

BEFORE AND AFTER – NEW DESIGN!

Mindful MetamorphosisThis is a Brown Spotted Tiger Longwing Butterfly. If a butterfly crosses your path it means good luck. If a butterfly lands on you good fortune is coming your way! The Mandarin Chinese word for butterfly is "hu-tieh". "Tieh" means "70 years", therefore butterflies have become a symbol for a long life. In the Japanese culture butterflies are thought to be representative of young maidens and marital bliss. In ancient Greek the word for butterfly is "Psyche", which translated means "soul". Butterflies also symbolize: Resurrection, Transition, Celebration, Lightness, Time and Soul. Symmetry is another manifestation of the balance of Yin and Yang, of the unimpeded flow of ch'i.

An Unforgettable Love

Meditative Monday – Here is a bouquet of flowers that are growing in my flower gardens and around my house. I am not sure if I have told you that most of my flower designs are from flowers I am growing.

This bouquet includes bachelor buttons A.K.A cornflower, forget-me-nots, yellow pansies, baby snapdragons and Deptford pinks.

Wishing you a marvelous Monday!

An Unforgettable Love

Bachelor Buttons symbolism - bachelors wore this flower when they were attracted to a maiden and sought to court her. The longer the bachelor donned the flower and the longer the flower bloomed told of the degree of his love. If the flower faded away quickly it was not meant to be.

Forget-me-not symbolism - The Forget-Me-Not flower represents true faithful love, fond memories and hope. It is also a flower essence of the heart chakra.

Pansy symbolism - The flower symbolism associated with the pansy is merriment and you occupy my thoughts. The pansy is also considered a flower of remembrance, togetherness and union. Pansies help evoke fond memories of our loved ones. It is believed if a pansy is placed over someone’s eyes while sleeping, upon waking that person will fall in love with the first person to appear. The pansy is also a flower essence of the third eye chakra.

Snapdragon symbolism - fascination and being cordial. It is also a flower essence of the throat chakra.

Did you know that dragonflies were one of the first flying insects to evolve over 3 million years ago. Scientist believe that high oxygen levels allowed dragonflies to grow to enormous size!

Monday Awakening

Mellow Monday – May this day bring to you a fresh and inspired start to the week!

Monday Awakening this design is of a Gerbera daisy,
Nemesia, fern and on the outer edge a Tiger Lily.

The daisy represents purity, innocence, loyal love, beauty,
patience and simplicity and new beginnings. The Gerbera daisy, the fifth most
popular flower in the world, has the added symbolism of cheerfulness!

The word daisy comes from the Old English word dægeseage,
meaning "day's eye". The daisy was thusly named because at night the
petals close over the yellow center and during the day they re-open or
“awaken”. This is how the fun saying “as fresh as a daisy” was created; it
infers that someone had a restful sleep.

There is a Celtic Legend about the death of an infant. God
sprinkled daisies all over the world when an infant passed to ease the parents
suffering and to cheer them up.

The daisy is the sacred flower of the Norse Goddess of love,
beauty and fertility, Freya. The daisy embodies childbirth, motherhood and new
beginnings.

The daisy is actually two flowers in one, called a composite
flower. The yellow center is called the disc floret and the outer petals are
the ray floret. Because they are actually two flower in one, blending it such
beautiful harmony the also symbolize true love!

Nemesia is Greek for “she who administers justice”.

Ferns symbolize sincerity towards others. It can also be a
symbol of magic, fascination, confidence, shelter, discretion, reverie and a
secret bond of love. Ferns are prehistoric living before the age of the
dinosaurs!

Tiger lily signifies wealth and pride.

Before and After – New Design

Energized Enlightenment – This chakra mandala design is made of flowers of the chakra system. A design I have been wanting to do for some time.

There are seven chakras that begin at the base of the spine and ascend through the body and end at the top of your head. Each of the seven points are connected with part of the body, energy, emotion and a life force.

The first is the root chakra that begins and the base of the spine. The Sanskrit name is Muladhara, which translates to root support. It is represented by the color red and the element of earth. This chakra unites you to the earth. A balanced root chakra provides a stable foundation and a positive self-awareness. If unbalanced one may feel insecure, frightened, and greedy.

The second chakra is the sacral chakra which is positioned between the pubic bone and navel. The Sanskrit name is Svadhishthana, which translates to dwelling place of the self. It is represented by the color orange and the water element. This chakra stimulates emotions, suppresses inhibitions, energizes your ability to adapt, creativity, social abilities and individuality. An unbalanced sacral chakra causes creative stagnation, fear, inertia and lust.

The third chakra is the Solar Plexus Chakra. This chakra is position in the lumbar spine and navel. The Sanskrit name is Manipura, which translates to city of jewels. It is represented by the color yellow and fire element. This chakra emphases one’s id, resolve, self-worth and how we feel we are perceived. It stimulates clarity of thought, inquisitiveness and mindfulness. It promotes self-acceptance. It allows us to feel in tune with the earth. An unbalanced chakra causes anger, self-denial, lack of integrity, inertia and inability to take control.

The fourth chakra is the Heart Chakra. This chakra center point is in the heart region. In Sanskrit it is called anahata which means unstuck. It is represented by the color green and focuses on emotional energy. This chakra promotes the ability to give and received love unconditionally. It supports our ability to love and nurture ourselves and others. It strengthens our the sense of serenity. An unbalanced heart chakra causes emotional paralysis, emotional neediness, codependency and a sense of isolation.

The fifth chakra is the Throat Chakra. It is positioned in the throat area. In Sanskrit it is call Vishuddha which translates to pure. It is represented by the color blue and the element of space. This chakra promotes prolific self-expression and eloquent commination. It stimulates Dharma (truth), and resolution. The color blue is considered comforting and soothing and can suppress nervousness and anxiety. Symptoms of an unbalance throat chakra are unresolved grief, fear of judgement, speech impairments, indecisiveness and inability to express oneself.

The sixth chakra is the Third Eye Chakra. It is positioned between the eyebrows. In Sanskrit is called Ajna meaning command or perception. It is represented by the color indigo. It triggers the physical senses and galactic attunement. It stimulates responsibility and our understanding and acceptance of divine direction. It encourages us to trust and follow our soul’s path. It fortifies our intuition and the ability to see the big picture.

The seventh chakra is the Crown Chakra. It is positioned and the top of our head. In Sanskrit it is called Sahasrara, which translates to thousand petaled lotus. It is represented by the color violet. This chakra promotes self-knowledge and spiritual consciousness. It assist in meditation and a collective understanding. If unbalanced one may suffer from self-delusion, distraction, lack of clarity and indulge in materialism.

Psychedelic Saturday

This is a bouquet of sunflower, blue hydrangea and pansies.

The sunflower is the Greek symbol of Clytie, a water nymph, who turns into a sunflower after grieving over the loss of her love, Apollo. Clytie, now in the form of a sunflower, is always facing the sun, looking for Apollo's chariot to return in the hope she is reunited with her love. In Chinese symbolism, the sunflower represents long life, good luck and is considered very auspicious. It's yellow color signifies vitality and intelligence as well as happiness. Sunflowers also symbolize adoration, loyalty and longevity. The hydrangea expresses the giver's gratefulness for the recipient's understanding. It also represents all that is sincerely heartfelt. The hydrangea is the 4th wedding anniversary flower. It symbolizes enduring grace and beauty, gratefulness and heartfelt feelings. In China, the hydrangea is associated with enlightenment. The flower symbolism associated with the pansy is merriment and you occupy my thoughts. The pansy is also considered a flower of remembrance, togetherness and union. Pansies help evoke fond memories of our loved ones. It is believed if a pansy is placed over someone’s eyes while sleeping, upon waking that person will fall in love with the first person to appear. Symmetry is another manifestation of the balance of Yin and Yang, of the unimpeded flow of ch'i
