My new design in honor of St. Patrick’s Day
Perpetual Passion
The Celtic knot has no beginning and no end, and represents
harmony and perpetual transcendent life. The Celtic Love Knot is an emblem of
everlasting love. It is believed that couple would exchange these knots like
wedding rings. I have used a different variation of the
traditional Celtic love knot which is two hearts intertwined. I have used a variation which is a
combination of the trinity knot and a heart intertwined within it. I have chosen this on as I love hearts and
well it works perfectly in a mandala.
Notice that the last frame of this video is Celtic love knot mandala is
action on big round Celtic knot.
The shamrock is three leaf clover and a type of trefoil plant. The shamrock is a symbol in Irish
antiquity. The shamrock can be traced
back to the druids and the Celtic Goddess Ana, a.k.a. Anu. The three leaves signifying her standing as
the maiden, mother and crone of Ireland.
It was in the 5th century that the patron Saint Patrick began
a mission to Christianize the agnostic Celtic Pagans. He used the three leaves of the shamrock to
illustrate the holy trinity. In the 17th century the shamrock was
adorned during the feast of Saint Patrick. (Please note that this is for informational
and entertainment purposes only and is not a representation of my beliefs both
spiritual and political)
The shamrock became an influential emblem in the 19th
century when the Irish Nationalists crusade applied the shamrock and the harp
as their insignia. Victorian England
perceived the embellishment of the shamrock as an act of rebellion and would
hang those who adorned it and in doing so facilitated the shamrocks path as the
unofficial national insignia of Ireland. The shamrock is actually the flower of
Ireland and the harp is the national symbol!
