NEW DESIGN NEW DESIGN!  I have been working on trying to create new designs, but it has been slow going.  I look at them, don’t like them, set them aside and hope when I look another day I might see something different.  This tiger swallow tail on my lilac trees brought out my creative juices!

Sublime Sentiment - This is an Eastern Tiger Swallowtail butterfly on lilac blooms.

Lilacs symbolize the first emotions of love spirituality.

The Celtics regarded the lilac as “magical” due to their incredibly intoxicating fragrance.

During the Victorian Age, the giving of a lilac was meant to be a reminder of an old love. In fact, widows were often seen wearing lilacs during this period.

In Russia, holding a sprig of lilac over the newborn would bring wisdom.

In the United States, the lilac is the official state flower of New Hampshire and represents the ‘hardy’ nature of its people.

The butterfly is the Celtic Zodiac for those born between September 30th thru October 27th.  Those born under this sign are said to be extremely social hence the phrase, “Social Butterfly”.   They are known to have a joyful personality and a cheery disposition.  They are intuitively empathetic and people are drawn to their positive aura.

The Mandarin Chinese word for butterfly is "hu-tieh". "Tieh" means "70 years", therefore butterflies have become a symbol for a long life.

If a butterfly crosses your path, it means good luck.

In the Japanese culture butterflies are thought to be representative of young maidens and marital bliss.

In ancient Greek the word for butterfly is "Psyche", which translated means "soul". Butterflies also symbolize: Resurrection, Transition, Celebration, Lightness, Time and Soul.
