Wizard of Wisdom ✨ - Celtic Lore considers the
owl a guardian of integrity. The owl
π¦ is a wise warrior whose wisdom
bestowed it the knowledge to the Underworld location, ancient Egyptian and
Hindu cultures believed the same. The owl has night vision and as such acts as messenger between our world and the
heavens. The Celts’ also revere the owl as an emblem of the fertility goddess
and the owl is depicted on clothing and home dΓ©cor. The owl is also a emblem of
the Celts’ ancient fertility goddess, appearing in various household items,
clothes, and animal enclosures.
The goddess of knowledge,
Athena, considered the owl as sacred, the owl is sacred to the Greek goddess of
learning, Athena and is even depicted on some Ancient Greeks used the owl on
currency as a symbol of prestige, intellect and prosperity.
Native Americans consider
the owl a symbol of wisdom, prudence, and guardian of sacred knowledge, because
the owl processes the ability to predict the weather. Native American folklore
tells of the owl bestowed upon them the ability to use this vision during
rituals when the needed the prophet of secret knowledge. Also its ability to
see at night is legend among the Native Americans, and this attribute would be
invoked during ceremonies when an oracle of secret knowledge was required.
The owl is a messenger of
secrets , and related to sorcerers, seers
and shamans in West African and Aboriginal Australian cultures. Medieval
Europeans folklore tells of the owl’s secret identity being a witch or wizard ️.
I wonder if this is why
Harry Potter depicts the owl as a messenger and able to communicate with
sorcerers? ✨
