My last honeybee design in a series of four. I love the
positive energizing energy of this design and I hope you can feel it too! I
call this design Good BEEhavior.
👀COMING SOON 👀–
a monarch butterfly design, a yellow sulfur butterfly design, a snapdragon
design, a rainbow design, and who knows after that!
🐝Good BEEhavior 🐝–
as I mentioned I am fond of honeybees, for many reasons but my favorite is that
my name Melissa means honeybee in Greek.
🐝This is my favorite bee
the orange belted bumble bee he is feasting on an blanket flower (gaillardia)
This is such a beautiful flower and I am nurturing this fall hoping it grows
back this coming spring. (fingers crossed)
🐝 Bee Meaning and
Symbolism – Many cultures honor the bee and it is noted in many ancient
cultures and mythologies. My favorite of course is the ancient Greek Goddess of
Bees, Melissa. Melissa means honeybee in Greek and she also cared for the
infant Zeus. She was turned into a beautiful bee by Zeus.
🐝 In ancient Egypt bees
were a symbol of royalty and supremacy.
🐝 蜜蜂 The
Chinese consider designs of a bee sitting on a flower to represent courtship,
marriage and love. They also these design to represent a maiden’s purity and
fertility due to the bee’s pollination ability. The Chinese culture also
considers the bee to represent cheerfulness, fortuity, affluence and harmony.
🐝 The overall symbolism
of bees include: Love, Life, Order, Development, Knowledge, Beauty, Family,
Happiness, Mystery, Sweetness, Nurturing, Community, Efficiency and
Communication.
🌼 The gaillardia a.k.a
blanket flower symbolizes humility, charm, happiness and joy!
🌼 There is also an
Indian legend about the how the gaillardia was nicknamed the blanket flower.
Two tribes were at war. The chief’s wife started weaving a blanket in orange
and yellow patterns. It represented her prayer to the great spirits to keep her
husband safe. One fateful day the chief’s daughter was playing in the woods and
she had gone astray and could not find her way home. As the sun set it grew
colder and colder and the little girl prayed to the Great Spirit to send her a
blanket to keep her warm. She drifted into a sound slumber. Dawn arrived and as
she woke up her father discovered her on his way home from war covered in these
bright cheerful beautiful flowers. From that point on the Chief called these
blanket flowers.🌼

Enthusiastic Ingenuity – Oh the beauty of Nasturtiums! I love there gorgeous varied blooms and their almost lily pad like leaves. My hummers and bees just love these blooms as they are rich in nectar. They create a lush and colorful display in the shady areas of my yard.
The general symbolism of nasturtiums is triumph and
conquest. The color of the nasturtium
also conveys symbolism. Orange
represents enthusiasm and creativity.
Green is my favorite color but I must confess there is an
energy to the color orange that I am often drawn to. When is see green and orange together it
ignites my spirits!
I have been feeling so “fierce” lately, not in an adverse
way, I have a sense of empowerment over personal challenges, a sense of control
over my destiny, focused and determined.
This design that I titled Enthusiastic Ingenuity is a result
of my soul singing, “I am strong, I am capable, I will succeeded in the goals I
have set for myself.
I share this with all of you that need some strength and
encouragement! GO GET ‘EM dear friends!
