Meditation Monday - Sunrise Sunset
As a Chakra -
The Sunflower is a flower essence of the Solar Plexus the
third Chakra. In Sanskrit the name is “Manipura” with translates to the “city
of jewels”. Yellow is the color associated with this chakra as well as the fire
element and sense of light.
If your Solar Plexus is imbalanced you experience
irritation, self-denial, integrity deficiency, apathy, confidence and unable to
take control. Once you balance this chakra you are experience self-acceptance
and feel in tune with the world.
Yellow relates to self worth and how we feel about ourselves
and how others perceive us. This is the area of ego and will. Yellow offers
clarity of thought, increases awareness, and stimulates curiosity.
Sunflower Symbolism -
The sunflower is the Greek symbol of Clytie, a water nymph,
who turns into a sunflower after grieving over the loss of her love, Apollo.
Clytie, now in the form of a sunflower, is always facing the sun, looking for
Apollo's chariot to return in the hope she is reunited with her love. In
Chinese symbolism, the sunflower represents long life, good luck and is
considered very auspicious. It's yellow color signifies vitality and
intelligence as well as happiness. Sunflowers also symbolize adoration, loyalty
and longevity. Symmetry is another manifestation of the balance of Yin and
