BEFORE AND AFTER

Perseverance - This is a green heron I photographed on Stump Lake part of the Mississippi river in Bemidji, MN where I live.  Bemidji is the first city on the Mississippi where the river begins and you can actually walk across it as it is only a few inches deep and a few feet wide!

The heron is noted for intelligence and solitude. As a Celtic symbol, the heron represents patience, independence and longevity. In Egypt the Heron is honored as the creator of light. As a Chinese symbol the Heron represents strength, purity, patience and long life. The Iroquois tribe held the heron as a very good omen, a very lucky sign. They recognized the heron as an expert fisher/hunter. As such, they believed that sighting a heron before a hunt was a sign that the hunt would be a good one. The heron is a beautiful creature, exhibiting grace, and noble stature. It’s no wonder the Native Indians and ancients honored the heron throughout the centuries.

My Mandala Muse

Monday Motivation Meditation

Don't forget to turn on your sound!

My Mandala Muse - Pink tulips symbolize happiness,
confidence and caring. They send a message of encouragement to someone. The
daffodil symbolizes rebirth and new beginnings and is fundamentally synonymous
with spring. The flower symbolism associated with the pansy is merriment and
you occupy my thoughts. The pansy is also considered a flower of remembrance,
togetherness and union. Pansies help evoke fond memories of our loved ones. It
is believed if a pansy is placed over someone’s eyes while sleeping, upon
waking that person will fall in love with the first person to appear. Symmetry
is another manifestation of the balance of Yin and Yang, of the unimpeded flow
of ch'i

BEEmidji Before and After

Before and After   TURN ON YOUR SOUND there is
fun music that goes with this short video!

BEEmidji – This title of course is a play on words but to
explain further it is a play on the city I live in Bemidji. (pronounced bee mid
gee). Ancient Egyptians saw the bee as a symbol of royalty, wisdom and
regeneration. Bees also symbolize communication and fruitful activity,
nurturing, family, community and teamwork as they all work together to support
the hive and their queen. In Chinese symbolism the bee represents love and
marriage. It also represents joy, fortune and harmony. Symmetry is another manifestation
of the balance of Yin and Yang, of the unimpeded flow of ch'i.
