Before and After

Mystical Musing - Purple is the most powerful visible wavelength of electromagnetic energy. It’s just a few steps away from x-rays and gamma rays. Perhaps this explains why purple is associated with supernatural energy and the cosmos than with the physical world as we know it. Purple lilacs symbolize the first emotions of love. The flower symbolism associated with the daisy is purity, innocence, loyal love, beauty, patience and simplicity. The flower symbolism associated with the pansy is merriment and you occupy my thoughts. The pansy is also considered a flower of remembrance, togetherness and union. Pansies help evoke fond memories of our loved ones. It is believed if a pansy is placed over someone’s eyes while sleeping, upon waking that person will fall in love with the first person to appear. Symmetry is another manifestation of the balance of Yin and Yang, of the unimpeded flow of ch'i

In many cultures the rainbow symbolizes the bridge between heaven and
earth.  The rainbow also symbolizes:
hope, divinity, transformation and harmony. The delphinium represents an open
heart, a passionate attraction and cheerfulness.  Symmetry is another expression of the balance
of Yin and Yang, of the unrestrained flow of ch'i

Before And After

Fringe BenefitsThis is a red fringed Gerber daisy. When I found this daisy at our local garden center I knew I had to create a design with it! A Daisy symbolizes innocence and purity. It also represents new beginnings, loyal love and “I will never tell”. The color red presents a paradox as it embodies passion, desire and seduction. The color red also signifies romance, love, excitement and youth. I imagine the daisy extenuates the virtue of love! Symmetry is another manifestation of the balance of Yin and Yang, of the unimpeded flow of ch'i.

Freaky Friday Psychedelic Fun!

A design I created from one of my rainbow rose photos!

Wednesday, June 28, 2017

Before and After

Sapphire SplendorThis is a blue morpho butterfly. The blue is not caused by pigmentation; it is actually caused by the way light reflects off of microscopic scales on the backs of the butterfly’s wings.

The structure of the scales is tetrahedral (pyramid-shaped), and they reflect light. The colours vary depending on the angle from which they are viewed.

If a butterfly crosses your path, it means good luck. In the Japanese culture butterflies are thought to be representative of young maidens and marital bliss. In ancient Greek the word for butterfly is "Psyche", which translated means "soul". Butterflies also symbolize: Resurrection, Transition, Celebration, Lightness, Time, Soul. Perpetual Passion

Meditative Monday

Perpetual Passion - This design of columbine, red & lavender roses and bleeding hearts symbolize love, romance and seduction. The lavender rose symbolizes love at first sight. The red rose symbolizes true love. It is also a flower essence of the root chakra. The columbine symbolizes love and seduction and is linked to Freya the Norse goddess of love. The symbolism of the Bleeding Heart is undying love, grace and fidelity. It is a flower essence of the heart chakra. The essence of the bleeding heart flower is said to open up and strengthen the heart chakra, which in turn causes a person to feel emotionally soothed and open to the possibility of a new romance. It is thought to be especially useful after a heart break. These blossoms are also frequently used in love spells. Symmetry is another manifestation of the balance of Yin and Yang, of the unimpeded flow of ch'i.

Freaky Friday - Psychedelic Fun!

This is a yellow daisy and red Peruvian Lily design.  The flower symbolism associated with the daisy is purity, innocence, loyal love, beauty, patience and simplicity and new beginnings.  The Peruvian lily symbolizes friendship and devotion.

The word daisy comes from the Old English word dægeseage, meaning "day's eye".   The daisy was thus named because at night the petals close over the yellow center and during the day they re-open or “awaken”.  This is how the fun saying “as fresh as a daisy” was created; it infers that someone had a restful sleep.

There is a Celtic Legend about the death of an infant.  God sprinkled daisies all over the world when an infant passed to ease the parents suffering and to cheer them up.

The daisy is the sacred flower of the Norse Goddess of love, beauty and fertility, Freya.  The daisy embodies childbirth, motherhood and new beginnings.

The daisy is actually two flowers in one, called a composite flower.  The yellow center is called the disc floret and the outer petals are the ray floret.  Because they are actually two flower in one, blending it such beautiful harmony the also symbolize true love!

Before and After

Whimsical PersuasionThis is a Sapho Longwing butterfly. It is not exactly known for sure how this butterfly was named but it is believed it is named after the Greek poet Sappho, who authored lyrical poetry about love. Sadly most of her poems are lost but a few were preserved in fragmented form.

The Mandarin Chinese word for butterfly is "hu-tieh". "Tieh" means "70 years", therefore butterflies have become a symbol for a long life. In the Japanese culture butterflies are thought to be representative of young maidens and marital bliss. Butterflies also symbolize: Resurrection, Transition, Celebration, Lightness, Time and Soul.

BEFORE AND AFTER

Perseverance - This is a green heron I photographed on Stump Lake part of the Mississippi river in Bemidji, MN where I live.  Bemidji is the first city on the Mississippi where the river begins and you can actually walk across it as it is only a few inches deep and a few feet wide!

The heron is noted for intelligence and solitude. As a Celtic symbol, the heron represents patience, independence and longevity. In Egypt the Heron is honored as the creator of light. As a Chinese symbol the Heron represents strength, purity, patience and long life. The Iroquois tribe held the heron as a very good omen, a very lucky sign. They recognized the heron as an expert fisher/hunter. As such, they believed that sighting a heron before a hunt was a sign that the hunt would be a good one. The heron is a beautiful creature, exhibiting grace, and noble stature. It’s no wonder the Native Indians and ancients honored the heron throughout the centuries.

BEEmidji Before and After

Before and After   TURN ON YOUR SOUND there is
fun music that goes with this short video!

BEEmidji – This title of course is a play on words but to
explain further it is a play on the city I live in Bemidji. (pronounced bee mid
gee). Ancient Egyptians saw the bee as a symbol of royalty, wisdom and
regeneration. Bees also symbolize communication and fruitful activity,
nurturing, family, community and teamwork as they all work together to support
the hive and their queen. In Chinese symbolism the bee represents love and
marriage. It also represents joy, fortune and harmony. Symmetry is another manifestation
of the balance of Yin and Yang, of the unimpeded flow of ch'i.

Reminiscing Of A Timeless Love

Reminiscing Of A Timeless Love – I thought that merging the monarch butterfly and the pansy in a mandala was the perfect symphony of symbolisms.

The ancient Aztecs believe that the dearly departed souls return as hummingbirds and butterflies. In the Japanese culture butterflies are thought to be representative of young maidens and marital bliss. Butterflies also symbolize: resurrection, transition, celebration, lightness, time and soul.

Masquerade Before And After

BEFORE AND AFTER

Masquerade - The Day of the Dead a.k.a. El Dia de los
Muertos is celebrated on November 1st and 2nd. During this time the sky over
the Mexican mountain village of Anguangeo is strewn with flickers of fiery
orange and browns. They are not from the colors of autumn leaves but from
countless monarch butterflies concluding their journey to the hills covered in
firs.

The locals believe the monarchs are the returning spirits of
their deceased relatives, inexplicably returning the same time every year. The
ancient Aztecs believe that the dearly departed souls return as hummingbirds
and butterflies.

The Mandarin Chinese word for butterfly is
"hu-tieh". "Tieh" means "70 years", therefore
butterflies have become a symbol for a long life. If a butterfly crosses your

Meditation Monday!

Meditative Musing
Third Eye Chakra – The pansy and the color Indigo are associated with the Third Eye chakra. When this chakra is unbalanced symptoms include creative block, and being unable to bond with dedication and sophisticated love. This color stimulates the senses when in balance you are compelled to one to follow the soul's path with trust. The key work is intuition; the ability to see things from a 'higher” viewpoint rather than through the ego of desire. The indigo energy connects the individual with the unconscious self, and offers the experience of Universal Wholeness. When in balance one is endowed with intuition, imagination and increased dream activity.

Crown Chakra - Violet is associated with the Crown charka. If this chakra is unbalance you suffer from a lack of clarity, materialism and avoidance. Once balanced you are focused and strong intuition. The color violet relates to self-knowledge and spiritual awareness. The highest potential of this energy is union with the Light Body. The violet energy connects us to our spiritual purification that may enhance focus and connection with meditation, yoga, dreams, and universal understanding

That's Amore Before and After

BEFORE AND AFTER

That’s Amore - The Heart Chakra is associated with the color
green and the bleeding heart flower. If this chakra is unbalanced you
demonstrate co-dependency and neediness. You feel deserted and unloved.

The bleeding heart flower and the color green relate to love
and the ability to give and receive unconditionally. When your heart chakra is
balanced, you offer love freely learning to nurture yourself and others. You
feel at ease and experience soothing thoughts and feelings.

The flower symbolism of the Bleeding Heart is undying love,
grace and fidelity. The essence of the bleeding heart flower is said to open up
and strengthen the heart chakra, which in turn causes a person to feel
emotionally soothed and open to the possibility of a new romance. It is thought
to be especially useful after a heartbreak. These blossoms are also frequently
used in love spells. Symmetry is another manifestation of the balance of Yin
and Yang, of the unimpeded flow of ch'i.

Sunrise Sunset

Meditation Monday - Sunrise Sunset

As a Chakra -
The Sunflower is a flower essence of the Solar Plexus the third Chakra. In Sanskrit the name is “Manipura” with translates to the “city of jewels”. Yellow is the color associated with this chakra as well as the fire element and sense of light.

If your Solar Plexus is imbalanced you experience irritation, self-denial, integrity deficiency, apathy, confidence and unable to take control. Once you balance this chakra you are experience self-acceptance and feel in tune with the world.

Yellow relates to self worth and how we feel about ourselves and how others perceive us. This is the area of ego and will. Yellow offers clarity of thought, increases awareness, and stimulates curiosity.

Sunflower Symbolism -

The sunflower is the Greek symbol of Clytie, a water nymph, who turns into a sunflower after grieving over the loss of her love, Apollo. Clytie, now in the form of a sunflower, is always facing the sun, looking for Apollo's chariot to return in the hope she is reunited with her love. In Chinese symbolism, the sunflower represents long life, good luck and is considered very auspicious. It's yellow color signifies vitality and intelligence as well as happiness. Sunflowers also symbolize adoration, loyalty and longevity. Symmetry is another manifestation of the balance of Yin and Yang, of the unimpeded flow of ch'i
